Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that his decision on the side's captaincy will be taken depending on what the playing eleven is for Saturday.

The north Londoners will be without their skipper Hugo Lloris this weekend after the goalkeeper suffered a hamstring injury last weekend.

As a result the manager will have to take up the additional task of selecting a skipper for the match against Crystal Palace.

According to the manager, there are a number of players who are contenders to wear the captain's armband and the final decision will be taken depending on the first team.

“We have players like Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen – these players could all be captain", Pochettino said at a press conference.

“It depends on the starting eleven.

"I will decide the starting eleven tomorrow and when my starting eleven is in my mind I will decide who will be captain.”

The Lilywhites will be looking for a win against Crystal Palace after having managed only a draw against Everton in their first match of the season.

The need to find an alternative skipper will be crucial though as Lloris is scheduled to be out for four weeks.
