Liverpool are considering an offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers for Mario Balotelli which would see the Championship side pay 70 per cent of the striker's salary.

The Reds snapped Balotelli up from AC Milan for £16m in the summer of 2014, but he quickly struggled at Anfield and a loan return to the Rossoneri last term did not change his fortunes.

Now Balotelli is struggling to find clubs willing to take him, even though he has been frozen out at Liverpool and is available.

A switch to the Championship could be possible though as Wolves are chasing the Italian.

It appears Wolves want Balotelli on loan and according to Italian TV programme Qui Studio A Voi Stadio, the Championship outfit would pay 70 per cent of the striker's salary, a total of €3.5m per season.
