Leeds United have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland international Eunan O'Kane from Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

Whites head coach Garry Monk is a big fan of O'Kane and was keen to get the deal done – now it has been pushed over the line before the closure of the transfer window.

Leeds have confirmed that O'Kane has put pen to paper on a contract until the summer of 2018.

O'Kane, who is a Republic of Ireland international, operates as a midfielder and will bolster Monk's options in the centre of the park.

It had been claimed earlier today that Leeds' swoop for O'Kane had stalled, but it appears Bournemouth agreeing a loan deal with Arsenal for Jack Wilshere helped smooth the move through.
