Romario Vieira thinks he could be battling brother Ronaldo Vieira for a spot in the heart of the Leeds United engine room after he linked up with the Whites on a one-year deal.

Leeds have moved to hand Romario his first professional contract in the game and the midfielder is being drafted into the club's development squad, which has been depleted following a number of players, including Ronaldo, being promoted to the senior squad.

Romario is delighted at the move and has looked forward to a future in which he may very well be battling with his brother for a spot in Leeds' midfield.

Romario will link up with the club's development squad, where he will look to prove his mettle and quickly graduate to the first team squad, alongside his brother.

"We could probably play next to each other or fight for the same position – it depends what the gaffer wants", Romario told the club's official site.
