Leeds United have confirmed that Ronaldo Vieira has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

The 18-year-old, whose previous contract was set to expire in 2018, progressed through the Whites’ academy before making his first team debut for the Championship outfit in a 1-1 draw in the league with Preston North End in May.

It was the youngster’s only appearance last term; but after impressing new Leeds boss Garry Monk in pre-season, the midfielder has featured considerably for the Yorkshire giants in the present campaign.

Vieira has thus far clocked up 44 minutes of action over six appearances in all competitions this season.

And the youngster, who is contracted with the Elland Road outfit until 2019, insisted that he is delighted to earn a new contract so fast at a club of Leeds' stature.

“It feels great to have managed this within less than a year of first coming to the club, especially because it’s a club like Leeds”, he told the club’s official site.

Vieira has so far featured in all five of Leeds’ Championship games this season, playing the full 90 minutes in three of them.
