Celtic have added defender Jozo Simunovic to their Champions League squad after the Croat's switch to Torino fell through.

Simunovic passed a medical with the Italian Serie A side on deadline day, but Torino were unable to come to an agreement with Celtic over a fee and the centre-back has returned to Scotland.

And Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers has responded by adding Simunovic to the club's squad for the Champions League group stage this season.

Right-back Cristian Gamboa, a signing from West Brom, has also been included, while Logan Bailly and Gary Mackay-Steven are also on the list.

Rodgers has opted to exclude senior players Efe Ambrose and Kris Commons, indicating the task the pair have to feature regularly for the former Liverpool manager this season.
