Celtic midfielder Kristoffer Ajer has identified Patrick Roberts as a lackadaisical trainer in Brendan Rodgers’ squad, but feels the winger’s skills more than make up for his attitude in training.

The Scottish champions snapped up Roberts from Manchester City in the January transfer window on an 18-month loan deal and the youngster has already made a big impact at Parkhead.

Ajer, another youngster, who joined Celtic this summer, is also expected to play a big role for the club going forward, and the young duo are considered two of the bright sparks of the Bhoys squad.

However, Ajer revealed that the Manchester City loanee is not one of the keenest trainers around, but admits that the talent Roberts possesses more than enough makes up for his lackadaisical attitude on the training pitch.

When asked to identify the worst trainer, the Norwegian told Celtic TV: “Maybe, Patrick Roberts.”

On the identity of the most skilful player at Celtic, Ajer said: “That’s him for sure, so he doesn’t need to train that much.”

Roberts and Ajer are expected to provide youthful exuberance to a Celtic squad this season that will be looking to see off a resurgent Rangers’ challenge and maintain their domination of Scottish football.
