Young Liverpool loanee Jack Dunn is aware that he will need to be smarter to make an impression at Morecambe during his loan stint.

After impressing during pre-season for Liverpool, the 21-year-old forward joined League Two outfit Morecambe on loan until January, and is keen to make the most of some valuable first team football this season.

He has already made an impression with a hat-trick against Rotherham in the League Cup, and also opened his league account for Morecambe with a goal against Blackpool last month.

Dunn believes that playing for the fourth tier club is a different test to turning out for Liverpool Under-23s as more physical defenders are forcing the young striker to be smarter on the ball.

The 21-year-old told LFC TV: “It’s a different test.

“[League Two has] got a lot of strong men who are 6’5 and I am only 5’8-5’9, so I've got to be smarter, I can’t always go and battle with them physically.

“I got to be a step ahead of them in the mind and I think if I keep going and keep in good condition, I’ll do really well.”

Despite being a regular for Liverpool Under-23s, Dunn is yet to make a senior appearance for the Reds, and will be hoping to catch the eye of Jurgen Klopp with his showing at Morecambe.
