Scott Brown feels the new Celtic players will relish featuring in the Old Firm derby against Rangers on Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers, who took charge of Celtic in the summer, brought in as many as five players, namely, Kolo Toure, Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele, Cristian Gamboa and Dorus de Vries.

Kristoffer Ajer, who returned from his loan spell from IK Start at the start of the season, was signed by Rodgers’ predecessor Ronny Deila.

And Brown thinks Celtic’s new recruits will “love “the atmosphere surrounding the Old Firm derby at Paradise.

However, the 31-year-old was quick to warn that the new players need to start positively to fully enjoy their first meeting with Rangers.

“I think they will love it”, Brown told Celtic TV, when asked how he thinks his new team-mates will enjoy the derby.

“As soon as you walk out and hear the fans, it’s going to be an exceptional day.

“It will be great for everyone, the first step, the first touch of the ball – as long as it’s positive and on the front foot, they will enjoy it from start to finish.”

Celtic, who are gunning for their sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, are currently one point clear at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Rangers are a place below with eight points from four outings.
