Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has reflected on his side's 7-0 drubbing by Barcelona, insisting that the Bhoys will not make the same mistakes again the next time they meet the Catalan giants in the Champions League.

It took just three minutes for Barcelona to take the lead when Neymar played in Lionel Messi, who hit a powerful shot past Bhoys goalkeeper Dorus de Vries.

However, the Scottish giants were handed a chance to get back into the game in the 25th minute as Dembele was fouled in the penalty area – but the striker saw his spot-kick saved.

And Barcelona made the Bhoys pay when Messi grabbed his second in the 27th minute.

It was 3-0 to the hosts in the 49th minute as Neymar curled a free kick over the wall and past De Vries in the Celtic goal.

A fourth came just before the hour mark, with Neymar picking out Andres Iniesta with a cross, the midfielder volleying into the back of the net.

And it was 5-0 in the 60th minute as Messi grabbed his hat-trick, having been fed the ball by Luis Suarez.

Suarez was determined to get in on the act and made it 6-0 in the 75th minute.

A seventh was not far off coming and two minutes from time good work between Iniesta and Messi saw a cut-back played to Suarez, who side-footed in for 7-0.

For Dembele, the defeat had come against the best side in the world. However, the striker instantly targeted improvement in the reverse group stage fixture at Celtic Park.

"It was a disappointing night to lose against the best team in the world", he told BT Sport.

"But we let them play too much. Next time we won't make the same mistakes.

"You can learn a lot playing against the best in the world."

And Dembele is not feeling downbeat about his penalty miss, adding: "Sometimes you score, sometimes you miss penalties."
