Manchester City have confirmed their starting eleven and substitutes to lock horns with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium this evening, as they replay the match which should have been played yesterday.
The original match was called off after heavy rain, but the two sides are going head to head this evening instead. New Citizens boss Pep Guardiola knows all about Gladbach from his time in charge of Bayern Munich in the German top flight and will be keen for Manchester City to start their Champions League campaign with a win on home turf.
In an effort to shoot down the Germans, Guardiola has Sergio Aguero to lead the attack, with support from Jesus Navas, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne. Ilkay Gundogan, who had been on the bench yesterday, will also look to contribute, as Fernandinho protects the back four. Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones are the central defensive pairing this evening.
On the bench, Guardiola can call for Nolito if he needs to shake things up, while Gael Clichy is another option for the Spanish boss. Leroy Sane, another summer signing, is also amongst the substitutes. David Silva, who was named in the team last night, is not in the matchday squad.
