Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update ahead of his side's Friday night Premier League fixture away against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds crushed champions Leicester City, 4-1, in their last match in front of an expanded Anfield, which meant over 53,000 fans were able to pack into the ground.

Klopp will want to keep the momentum going against Antonio Conte's Chelsea, but will have to make do without midfielder Emre Can, though he has been boosted by Dejan Lovren being available for selection.

The Liverpool manager explained at a press conference: "The players who were involved in the last game are, until now, all ready again – plus Dejan. Not the others, for example Emre.

"Emre is not injured any more, which is good, but now he needs to train and that’s how it is. He had a difficult pre-season with coming back later than most of the other players then a little injury here and a little problem there", Klopp continued.

"Until now, it was not the best moment, but he is still a wonderful player and now we have to make him fit."

The Liverpool boss also provided an update on Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez, while insisting goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have trained without issue.

"That’s what we will do with him, that’s what we will do with Mama and if you want, with Joe Gomez and all the others.

"Simon is all good and Loris has been in training the whole week now, so all good", he added.

Chelsea saw their 100 per cent record go last weekend as they dropped two points with a 2-2 draw away at Swansea City, but still sit second in the Premier League.
