Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn admits that the Whites have developed a resilient streak this season, which has come to the fore in their performances at home.

Leeds came back from behind twice against Norwich City on Tuesday night and eventually secured an EFL Cup quarter-final berth following a penalty shootout where Marco Silvestri made three saves.

The Yorkshire giants played the whole of extra time a man down after Lewie Coyle hobbled off the pitch towards the end of regulation time and Garry Monk had already used up this three substitutes.

Nelson Oliveira even gave Norwich the lead in the 99th minute, but Chris Wood converted from close range ten minutes later to push the game into a shootout.

Redfearn feels the Whites have developed a resilient streak and believes their recent results are down to the fact that the whole team are performing efficiently like a well oiled machine.

The former Leeds boss said on TV Yorkshire: “There is a real resilience about Leeds.

“We’ve seen it before in the results gone past and they are on a great run of form at home, they are having victories on the back of an organised back four and a diligent hard working midfield.

“They are showing some great craft and game awareness going forward and the goals came at the right time.”

Leeds will learn about their EFL Cup quarter-final opponents after the rest of the last 16 games are completed later this evening.
