Leeds United assistant manager Pep Clotet believes his players deserve immense credit for their commitment and the willingness to work for each other this season and feels that it gives the team a boost in power.

The Yorkshire giants had to cope with criticism for a slow start to the season, but since September the tide has turned and a good run of form has propelled them to ninth in the Championship table.

And with an appearance in the EFL Cup quarter-finals against Liverpool on the horizon this month, Leeds seem to be on an upward trajectory and Clotet feels the players deserve all the credit.

The Leeds assistant stressed that the commitment and the selflessness the squad have shown this season deserves applause and is pleased to see that the Leeds players are ready to go that extra mile to help the team.

The Spaniard told LUTV: “The commitment of the players, the work they do all together and they are committed towards giving their best for the team in an unselfish way.

“It gives us a lot of power in the performances of the team as everyone is ready to go that extra mile or take that extra step or give that extra effort for the benefit of all.”

Leeds will next play Norwich City at Carrow Road this Saturday and will return from the international break to host league leaders Newcastle United at a sold-out Elland Road.
