Alfonso Pedraza has been placed at the disposal of Villarreal coach Fran Escriba and is waiting to discuss his future with the club.

The winger has now ended a loan spell with Leeds United, which ran for the second half of the season, and has headed back to Spain.

Leeds were obligated to pay €10m to snap him up from Villarreal if they won promotion to the Premier League, but the Whites dropped down to seventh spot in the Championship following a poor run of form and will continue in England's second tier next term.

According to Spanish daily El Periodico Mediterraneo, Pedraza has now headed back to Spain and has been placed at the disposal of Villarreal coach Escriba.

Pedraza is now waiting to find out the club's plans for him moving forward.

It has been claimed the winger could remain with the Villarreal first team into next season, however a fresh loan elsewhere has not been taken off the table.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds might look to re-sign Pedraza over the summer transfer window as the winger was regularly handed game time by Whites head coach Garry Monk.
