Leeds United are expected to confirm the appointment of Victor Orta as the club's new technical director towards the middle of this week.

Orta officially left Middlesbrough five days ago, departing his role as head of recruitment.

He had been brought in by Aitor Karanka in December 2015 and has followed his countryman out of the Riverside Stadium.

Orta is expected to be soon back in employment with Leeds and, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, he is expected to be confirmed as the Elland Road club's technical director in midweek.

The arrival of Orta will add further fuel to the fire of suggestions that Karanka will take over as head coach at Leeds.
