Former Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio has shared a video of himself scoring against Middlesbrough.

Leeds recently saw Garry Monk quit as head coach, despite the Whites offering him a contract extension, and the former Swansea City manager has taken over at Middlesbrough, which means his new side will visit Elland Road in the Championship next season.

Some Leeds fans have been surprised at Monk's willingness to quit Elland Road for the Riverside Stadium.

It is unclear whether amid such a backdrop Becchio was making a statement related to it, but the former Leeds striker took to Twitter to share a video of himself scoring against Middlesbrough.

The striker also wrote "Nice one".

Now 33 years old, Becchio made himself a firm fan favourite at Leeds with a spell at the club between 2008 and 2013.

He has regularly been linked with returning to Elland Road, but the striker has yet to be offered the opportunity to do so.

Becchio scored 86 goals in 219 appearances for Leeds and currently turns out for Spanish third tier outfit Atletico Baleares.
