Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta has already drawn up a list of prospective signings, the club's new head coach Thomas Christiansen has revealed.

The Whites only recently appointed Christiansen, with the 44-year-old being presented to the media on Monday, but in a sign of how the power over transfers lies elsewhere at Elland Road, Orta already has a list of signings ready to go.

Christiansen met Orta for discussions on potential signings on Monday and insists that the players the Whites bring in will be key to move the side forward.

He also stressed the club are not looking for big names, but players who can do a job and want to play for Leeds.

"I will sit down with Victor and speak about the players we have in view", he said on LUTV after his first press conference.

"But Victor has done a very good job. He has a lot of experience at different teams and in different countries.

"He has already made a shortlist of players that can help the team.

"This is the most important thing, players who can help the team, to sign them and players who want to come here.

"We are not talking about the name, but the player himself", Christiansen added.

Orta was a key man in taking Christiansen to Elland Road as he spoke with the head coach's agent before a meeting was then set up in Italy, in which Orta, chairman Andrea Radrizzani and director Ivan Bravo were present.

Christensen was offered the job just days after the meeting, so impressed were the Leeds trio with the Dane's vision for the Whites.
