Former Liverpool defender Steve Staunton was impressed with what Dominic Solanke brought to the party when he was introduced in the Reds' 1-1 draw against Burnley at Anfield on Saturday.
Solanke came on in the 78th minute as Liverpool looked for a winner in the Premier League clash and the former Chelsea man hit a side-footed volley which crashed against the crossbar.
The striker introduced energy into the game as he aimed to make the difference against the Clarets and Staunton thinks Solanke should have scored, which would have handed Liverpool all three points.
Staunton said on LFC TV: "Solanke, when he came on, he didn't do bad.
"When he came on he made one or two runs and was unlucky with the header", the Irishman continued.

"He made a good run across and got a glancing header across the post and the chance he should have scored and was unlucky to hit the bar."
Solanke will be looking for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to hand him a start on Tuesday night when Liverpool travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in the EFL Cup.
The striker, who is just 19 years old, joined Liverpool in the summer following the expiry of his contract at champions Chelsea.
