Rangers loanee Robby McCrorie has explained that he is hopeful about becoming the Gers’ first choice between the sticks in five years’ time.

The young goalkeeper, who joined Berwick Rangers on a season-long loan deal in the summer, has thus far made five appearances in all competitions for the Scottish League Two outfit.

McCrorie is a product of Rangers’ youth system, but he is yet to make his first team debut for the club.

He joined Berwick Rangers in search of first team action, with Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick currently being ahead of him in the pecking order at Ibrox.

And the 19-year-old, who said that he has learnt from both Foderingham and Alnwick, is optimistic about becoming Rangers’ number one choice under the bar, five years from now.

“Learned a lot from both – positionally”, he said in a question and answer session on Twitter, when asked if he has learnt from the senior goalkeepers at Rangers and if he sees himself at Ibrox after five years.

“In five years I hope to be Rangers’ number one and pushing for the national team.”

McCrorie, whose present contract with Rangers runs until 2019, has represented Scotland up to Under-19 level.

His twin brother Ross made his senior Rangers debut this season and has thus far turned out for the first team three times.
