Chris Sutton says that Kenny Miller has been left out of the Rangers matchday squad for this afternoon's Scottish League Cup semi-final against Motherwell.

Miller has tumbled out of favour with manager Pedro Caixinha in recent weeks and was even sent to train with the Under-20s before being allowed back into the first team fold.

He has not played for Rangers since an Old Firm defeat against Celtic last month and the striker's agent insists his client has been hung out to dry by the Gers.

With Miller back in first team training, all eyes have been on when and if the 37-year-old will return to a matchday squad.

And Sutton says that he has heard Miller will not be involved against Motherwell at Hampden this afternoon.

Asked about Miller on BT Sport Facebook Live, Sutton said: "I've heard he's not in the squad."

With Rangers in good form of late, Caixinha is not under pressure to restore Miller to the side.

The striker will have to watch on from home as Rangers look to reach their first Scottish League Cup final since 2011 by seeing off Motherwell.
