Barcelona midfield legend Xavi has indicated that Philippe Coutinho could be the replacement for Neymar at the Nou Camp.
Paris Saint-German snared Neymar away from Barcelona last summer by paying his release clause and it left the club reeling as they lost a star player to a big European rival.
Barcelona tried to sign Coutinho last summer but Liverpool remained adamant and made sure that they didn’t allow the player to dictate his transfer to the Nou Camp.
The Catalan giants are expected to make a move for the creative midfielder again in the January transfer window and Xavi believes his former club should go for the Brazilian as he could be the best replacement for Neymar.
Asked if he would sign Coutinho, the Barcelona legend told Mundo Deportivo: “He is the closest thing to Neymar, he could even play in the midfield for Barcelona.

Coutinho’s agents have already agreed the terms of a contract with Barcelona and reports in Spain have claimed they have received assurances from Liverpool that they will sell the player for a fee of around the €150m mark.
