Barcelona are unhappy with the way Manchester United target Samuel Umtiti has handled the talk over his future at the club and negotiations over a new deal could cool down further in the coming weeks, it has been claimed.

The Frenchman has a release clause in his contract worth €60m, which Manchester United are prepared to pay, and the Premier League giants have also offered a contract worth €9m per season to the player.

Umtiti remains keen on continuing with Barcelona, but it has been claimed that the defender wants Barcelona to match Manchester United’s wage offer to keep hold of him.

The Catalan giants have been keen to hold on to him and were planning to offer him a new deal, but have been left shocked by the defender’s financial demands.

And according to Catalan daily Sport, the Blaugrana also believe Umtiti’s attitude since negotiations over a new deal started has not been the best and has been noticed by the dressing room.

And it has been claimed that Barcelona could further delay the negotiations with his representatives if they do not see his attitude and performances improving in the final weeks of the season.

Manchester United have been keeping their hawkish eyes on Umtiti’s situation at Barcelona and Jose Mourinho has already been in touch with his agents in order to convince him to move to Old Trafford in the summer.
