Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that anyone believing that his side's Champions League semi-final tie against Roma will be an easy one for the Reds could not possibly have watched the quarter-final against Barcelona.

The Merseyside giants were drawn against the Italian giants on Friday with the first leg scheduled to be held at Anfield on 24th April.

In spite of Roma not boasting a status similar to Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, Klopp insists that his team do not feel any sense of relief after being drawn against the Italians.

The German manager took time to reflect on Roma's tie against Barcelona in the quarter-final, specifically the second leg where they dominated the match to overturn a 4-1 deficit from the first leg to eventually win 3-0 and go through.

"It was not that I thought 'thank God not Bayern, thank God not Real Madrid, yippee Roma' or the other way around",  Klopp told his club's official site.

"It is just the draw and I know it is very exciting, but it is good because the most important news is we are still in the competition.

"Whichever opponent we would have got, I would have said there is a chance because it is football – so there is a chance against Roma.

"But if anybody thinks this is the easiest draw then I cannot help this person; they obviously didn't see both games against Barcelona. In the first result, the 4-1, it was not like the game was – it was [Lionel] Messi genius against a good side of Roma.

"The second leg was outstanding, it was outstanding what they did. They should have probably won four or five-nil – I was really impressed.

"It is work and no problem with that and now we are looking forward of course to the first game."

Liverpool's immediate task however is to lock horns with Bournemouth in a Premier League game later today.
