Rangers legend Ally McCoist has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson was the first into the dressing room at Elland Road to celebrate when the Gers knocked Leeds United out of the Champions League.
The Glasgow giants were drawn to face Leeds in the second round of the Champions League in the 1992/93 campaign.
The first leg saw Rangers record a 2-1 win at Ibrox, with McCoist scoring for the Gers, and they then headed south for the second leg at Elland Road with a spot in the group stage up for grabs.
Another 2-1 win for the Scottish giants, McCoist on the scoresheet again, led to big celebrations as Rangers progressed – and the celebrations were led by then Manchester United boss Ferguson.
McCoist revealed on Open Goal: "We worked hard, but we played hard. Some of the celebrations we had after good victories were brilliant.

"I remember one of the games down at Leeds United – we beat Leeds to get into the Champions League. They were a proper team, English champions, [Gary] McAllister, [Gordon] Strachan, [Eric] Cantona, a good team.
"We beat them and I remember the first person into that Rangers dressing room celebrating was Sir Alex.
"I think for a couple of reasons – a Manchester United manager didn't mind seeing Leeds get beat, but also for Scottish football, he was a very, very proud Scot and he was just delighted that a Scottish team had beaten the English champions."
Rangers progressed to a group containing Marseille, Club Brugge and CSKA Moscow, finishing second to miss out on moving to the final, which was contested between Marseille and AC Milan, the French side winning 1-0.
Ferguson played for Rangers, turning out for the Ibrox club from 1967 until 1969.
