Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is keen to see whether Inter are serious about signing him before considering other offers.

Darmian wants to leave Manchester United this summer and a return to Italy is his preference, but one-by-one his options are dwindling as the season approaches.

Juventus are unlikely to revive talks with Manchester United as they are wary of their financial demands and Napoli are unlikely to sign another full-back once they complete the deal to bring in Kevin Malcuit from Lille.

Manchester United have been unwilling to drop their financial demands despite the player’s desperation to leave and it seems Inter are Darmian’s only viable path back to Italy.

The Nerazzurri recently rekindled talks with 28-year-old’s representatives and according to Italian daily Tuttosport, the player is keen to see whether Inter are indeed interested in signing him.

Luciano Spalletti is said to be eyeing adding one more full-back to his squad and the club are keeping close tabs on Darmian as part of their plans for the rest of the window.

Benfica are also interested in the player, but they are expected to struggle to meet the defender’s wage demands.

And Darmian is also not willing to consider other offers as long as a return to Italy remains a possibility.
