Eddie Gray believes Leeds United have players outside the starting eleven who would walk into any side in the Championship this season.

Marcelo Bielsa has earned huge amount of plaudits for the style of football Leeds have displayed in their first two games of the season and they are being termed early favourites for promotion.

However, some fans feel Leeds are yet to field their strongest starting eleven and with players such as Patrick Bamford and Pontus Jansson yet to start a game, many believe the best is yet to come for the Whites.

Gray has expressed his delight at the players Bielsa has at his disposal on the bench still and believes Leeds are one of the strongest squads in the division.

He feels some of the Leeds substitutes would walk into any starting eleven in the Championship this season.

The Leeds legend said on LUTV: “The good thing is when you look at the bench, it’s very strong.

“We are going on about Patrick Bamford but Pontus Jansson [he is yet to start], Adam Forshaw is still not fit.

“On that bench in two weeks, there could be players who would walk into any side in the Championship.

“That augurs well for the team as well and it keeps the players who are playing in the starting eleven, on their toes.”

Bielsa is unlikely to make any changes from the team that demolished Derby last weekend when Leeds host Rotherham later today.
