Injured Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford says that it is unbelievable to see the effort Marcelo Bielsa's team put in every time they go on to the pitch.

The record summer signing is currently unavailable due to a knee injury, with no certain recovery date being fixed, but an estimated period of four months on the sidelines has been mooted.

The 25-year-old insists that watching from the stands, the team look great, putting in unbelievable energy in each game they take part in.

Bielsa's team are also confident playing out from the back, Bamford believes, and views the trait as key for any side.

While Bamford believes that the fans might feel it to be a risk to play in such a way, the striker says it gives the team higher chances of scoring after having eliminated five or six opponents in the process.

“Looking out from the stands, it’s actually unbelievable how much everyone runs, the effort we put in, the confidence on the ball, not scared to play out form the back and I think that’s crucial", Bamford was quoted as saying by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"The manager obviously doesn’t want mistakes but I don’t think he will penalise you if you are trying to play the right way or trying to do things that ultimately will help us succeed.

“The fans will probably think it is risky sometimes, the way we play out, but as you saw a couple of times the other night, when you do get it right you have eliminated five or six of their players and you are on to their back four so it’s worth it.

"If we can carry it on and we can keep improving then we will see what happens.”

Bielsa's side will aim to stretch their unbeaten run in the Championship when they host Garry Monk's Birmingham City side on Saturday.
