Celtic star Ryan Christie feels that a club of the Bhoys stature demands that their midfielders carry a goal threat from midfield and has vowed to keep providing one.

The 23-year-old has so far featured in 18 overall games for the Scottish champions, adding to the scoresheet as many as five times, with his latest goal coming against Motherwell on Wednesday night.

Christie insists that scoring goals is well within his job profile and he hopes that it continues as the season progresses.

"Target-wise, I'm keeping that to myself but that's my job, you need to carry a goal threat from midfield for this club", Christie was quoted as saying by STV.

"I'm happy to be doing that just now, long may it continue."

The youngster was adjudged to be the Premiership Player of the Month for November after a string of impressive displays.

And now he hopes that his improvements with Celtic can help him continue with the Scotland national team, as they bid to reach Euro 2020.

"Hopefully I keep playing well and that will play in for me Scotland."

The Bhoys will play league leaders Kilmarnock this Saturday at Celtic Park.
