Leeds United have not been looking to do a deal to sign Ibai Gomez from Alaves, it has been claimed.

Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa has signalled little to no transfer activity for Leeds in the January transfer window, although the club are tipped to sign another goalkeeper following Jamal Blackman's injury.

However, speculation has continued to swirl and is set to be accelerated if Samu Saiz returns to Spain to join Getafe on loan.

Leeds have been linked with Alaves' attacker Gomez, who played under Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao.

But, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, signing the 29-year-old is not a deal Leeds have been looking to do.

It remains to be seen if Saiz's departure could change the scenario at Elland Road, but Bielsa has continued to insist he is happy with his squad.

The Argentine tactician has also shown he is keen to work and improve the players already at Elland Road, and wholesale changes last summer were resisted.

Leeds are flying high in the Championship at present, with Bielsa having found the right formula.
