Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke is unlikely to move to Turkish giants Besiktas as they do not have the funds to sign him on a permanent basis.

Benteke has struggled to make an impression at Selhurst Park and in the current campaign injuries have restricted him to just four Premier League appearances.

He has been linked with a January transfer window move to Besiktas, with just weeks to go before clubs are again able to make signings.

But, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, there is little in the speculation as Besiktas cannot afford to sign Benteke on a permanent deal.

And Crystal Palace are not prepared to let Benteke, who has 18 months left on his contract, depart on a loan deal.

Roy Hodgson's Palace side currently sit in 15th spot in the Premier League, having picked up 15 points from their opening 17 games.
