Former Rangers star Lee McCulloch feels that the Gers have exciting options in the wide positions at the moment.

Rangers returned to the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a 1-0 win against Hamilton on Sunday as Daniel Candeias got on the scoresheet for the Light Blues.

Steven Gerrard’s side have scored the most number of goals in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, and the wingers have contributed.

Though Rangers have missed their leading goalscorer Alfredo Morelos at times this season, the wingers have stepped in more often than not to get the job done.

The Gers have a combination of youth and experience on the wings and McCulloch feels the club need to strengthen in the number 10 position as they have enough quality in the wide areas.

“There are some exciting options in the wide positions as a whole at the moment for Rangers”, McCulloch wrote in his column for the Evening Times.

“Eros Grezda is starting to make an impact, Daniel Candeias is always a threat, so while I am very keen for Rangers to address the number 10 position, there is still a lot of threat coming from the flanks.

“[Glenn] Middleton has been managed very well by Steven Gerrard.

“The fans are obviously keen to see as much of him as possible, but while he has been heavily involved in the first-team picture, he has often found himself coming off the bench to try and impact games.

“And to be fair to him, he usually does just that.”

Rangers will next travel to Easter Road to take on Hibernian in the Premiership on Wednesday and will hope to remain at the top of the table.
