Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has admitted the club take pleasure in knowing that Tottenham Hotspur target Joachim Andersen is attracting interest.

The young Danish centre-back has stood out for Sampdoria in Serie A so far this season and his performances have seen him linked with clubs in Italy and outside.

Tottenham are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Andersen and Osti, although not wanting to think about the transfer market now, admits the club are pleased he is popular.

Osti, asked about the transfer talk surrounding Andersen, was quoted as saying by Italian outlet FCInterNews.it: "We are happy to know that our players are followed.

"But at this moment we would like to concentrate only on the league.

"There is time for the transfer market. We do not want voices to annoy and remove concentration from our players", the sporting director added.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham or other clubs might make a move for Andersen in the January transfer window, but the player's suitors may take encouragement from the fact Sampdoria do not appear to be putting up a brick wall around the defender.

Andersen has made 16 appearances in Serie A for Sampdoria so far this season.
