Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted his side face a tough task after their reward for knocking Arsenal out of the EFL Cup was confirmed to be a semi-final tie against Chelsea.

Pochettino put a strong side on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium and was rewarded, with Tottenham taking the lead after just 20 minutes when Heung-Min Son got on the end of a delicious ball from Dele Alli to fire the visitors ahead.

Alli then helped himself to a goal just before the hour mark when he chipped Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech, a superb finish to make sure of a semi-final spot for Spurs.

Tottenham have been drawn to face Chelsea in the final four and Pochettino admits the draw is the continuation of a tough run.

"A very difficult draw, another London derby. We have already played Watford, West Ham and Arsenal", Pochettino said on Sky Sports following the game.

"We shall see, Chelsea are a great team but we are excited. To be in the semi-final is fantatsic for us.

"I am very pleased tonight. The most important thing was to play well and win the game.

"We deserved it. We kept a clean sheet here after a very busy period", the Tottenham boss added.

Tottenham and Chelsea will battle for a place in the EFL Cup final over the weeks commencing 7th and 21st January.

The other EFL Cup semi-final sees Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side lock horns with Nigel Clough's Burton Albion outfit.
