Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren has admitted that the Reds will need their full squad if they are to push Manchester City all the way.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have a slender one-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table and Liverpool's squad was tested against Manchester United in their last game as the manager had to draft Nathaniel Clyne into the starting line-up.

It was Clyne’s first appearance in the Premier League this season and the right-back impressed at the back with a solid display.

The club are light in the centre-back region too as Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have been ruled out for the rest of the year.

Lovren, who played alongside Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool’s last outing, believes the players know what Klopp expects and every member in the squad is important.

“There are quite a lot of players who have been for a couple of seasons now with Jurgen”, Lovren told the club’s official website.

“We know and he knows what we need to do, so there’s not too much to say, especially for Clyney.

“When you look back, he didn’t play for I don’t know how many months and he did a fantastic game.

“This is important, and of course it’s important to keep this momentum and to enjoy this moment.

“Hopefully there won’t be many injuries because we need everyone.

"Even the 25th player is important.”

Liverpool will hope to keep their unbeaten run going when they take on Wolves in the Premier League on Friday.
