RB Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick believes that his side have finally landed the successor to Naby Keita in the shape of midfielder Amadou Haidara.

The Bundesliga outfit lost Keita to Liverpool in the summer and have endured a series of inconsistent results this term without him.

RB Leipzig are looking to make sure they fill the hole left by Keita's departure and Rangnick feels having landed Haidara from Red Bull Sazlburg they have now done the trick.

He told German news agency DPA: "We are very pleased that this transfer of Amadou Haidara has been completed.

"There are not many players of his age who have such great potential.

"He has all the qualities needed to succeed Naby Keita", the RB Leipzig coach added.

Haidara, 20, made 21 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg this season, notching three goals and providing six assists.

He featured for all 90 minutes of Red Bull Salzburg's 3-1 win over Celtic in the Europa League in Austria, but missed the 2-1 win at Celtic Park through injury.

RB Leipzig are paying around £13m to sign Haidara and the deal will officially go through when the transfer window opens in January.
