Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas has hit back at criticism of him backing Carl Frampton to beat Josh Warrington.

Frampton and Warrington are due to go head to head on Saturday night in an IBF world featherweight title fight at the Manchester Arena.

Warrington, from Leeds and a die-hard Whites fan, has the firm backing of the Yorkshire city and Leeds United's supporters.

But Dallas is backing his countryman from Northern Ireland, Frampton, and hopes to see him beat Warrington on Saturday evening.

Dallas recorded a video message to Frampton, wishing him luck, but was taken to task by a Leeds fan who remarked: "What are you doing Stuart?"

The Leeds winger was quick to hit back and wrote: "Supporting my mate. What’s the problem?

"Do you want me just to support Josh because he’s Leeds?

"Believe it or not I don’t do things just to please some people."

Frampton, from Belfast, starts as clear favourite to beat Warrington in Manchester, however Leeds fans are hopeful their man can spring a surprise.

While Frampton has one loss on his career card, Warrington has won every one of his 27 fights.
