Rangers winger Glenn Middleton says that the Gers stars have already started to talk about the Boxing Day clash against Hibernian as a hugely important week of action kicks off for the side.

Steven Gerrard's men recorded a 2-1 win away at St Johnstone on Sunday to move to within a point of leaders Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Middleton acknowledges that Rangers, who now play Hibernian and then Celtic, have just begun a massive week, but he insists that the three points gained against St Johnstone are equally important to points which might be picked up against Hibs.

"It's obviously a massive week for us, starting today", he told Rangers TV.

"It was as important a three points as it will be if we get the job done against Hibs on Wednesday."

And Middleton revealed that despite the ink barely being dry on the win against St Johnstone, Rangers are now thinking firmly about the looming Hibernian clash as part of a big week.

"We all can't wait for it.

"Everyone's talking about it already and we're just looking forward to getting stuck into it", he added.

Rangers will be desperate to beat Neil Lennon's Hibernian side to set themselves up for the Old Firm meeting with Celtic next weekend.
