Luke Ayling's partner has indicated that the defender will be involved for Leeds United against Aston Villa this afternoon.

The right-back has been out of action with an injury and had only been expected to be fit to return in the new year.

But Leeds have sped up his recovery and the defender is now available for selection again if head coach Marcelo Bielsa wants to select him.

And in a sign that Ayling could well be involved at Villa Park, his partner Poppy Weller took to social media to express her delight.

Leeds dropped down to second place in the Championship standings on Saturday after Norwich City took maximum points from their game.

But if the Whites can beat Dean Smith's Aston Villa then they will go back to the top and be top on Christmas Day.

Villa though are on a run of seven games unbeaten as Smith looks to put together a promotion push at the club.

The Villa Park outfit are expected to spend again in the January transfer window and have already secured goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic.
