Leeds United first team coach Carlos Corberan believes that the Whites are at the top of the Championship because of Marcelo Bielsa’s mentality, which demands the players never give anything less than 100 per cent.

The Yorkshire based outfit were tested by Aston Villa on Sunday as the hosts took a two-goal lead before half time at Villa Park.

With the win, Leeds head into the second half of the season as Championship leaders.

Corberan has admitted that the Championship was always going to be demanding and the players have managed to replicate Bielsa’s mentality of giving their best every single day.

“This year is going to be very demanding year and we need to give out best that we have so everyone has this idea in mind”, Corberan told LUTV after Leeds’ win against Villa.

“I think Marcelo is a coach who I think is always focused to put this in the mind of every player that they have to give their best every single day, every game.

“In the end, you can get the result with the presence of this mentality.”

Leeds have a six-point lead over West Brom who are just outside the automatic promotion spots, and the Whites will hope to keep up their consistency in the second half of the season.
