Leeds United loanee Caleb Ekuban has been left impressed by Trabzonspor youngster Abdulkadir Omur, rating the teenage midfielder as a big talent.
Ekuban joined the Turkish outfit on loan from Leeds last summer and Trabzonspor are considering taking up the option of signing him on a permanent contract for an agreed fee of €1m.
The Leeds striker, who has scored eight goals this season in Turkey, is enjoying his football at Trabzonspor and is happy to play in a squad that is brimming with youthful exuberance.
The 25-year-old believes there is a right balance of youngsters in the squad and admits that he has not seen so many young talents in one team before arrived at the club.
He particularly likes 19-year-old Omur, a right-sided midfielder, and indicated he is one of the best youngsters he has seen in his career.
Ekuban was quoted as saying by Turkish daily Takvim: “I think the mix of youngsters in this team is great.
“Everyone is trying to help each other.
“Nowhere have I seen so many young and talented players in one team.
“Abdulkadir is like a gift.
“He can take on five people and take a shot on goal and I say, ‘this is what we are doing here’.”
Ekuban’s future is still uncertain as, despite Trabzonspor being likely to sign him, the Turkish club are tipped to be open to making a quickfire profit on him.
