Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has defended Manchester United’s recruitment team and is confident that he will get the players he wants this summer.

Manchester United’s recruitment since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement has come under the fire due to the club’s often haphazard and scatter-gun approach under executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Woodward has been accused of chasing star names and Jose Mourinho was not happy last summer that the club did not back him properly in the transfer market, which led to a poor season and his sacking.

However, Solskjaer has defended the club’s recruitment and insisted that a global scouting network have been identifying the right kind of players for Manchester United.

And he is confident that the club will sign the players he wants in his squad for next season.

“I don’t know if all these critics know what’s happening”, Solskjaer said in a press conference.

“We’ve got scouts scouring the planet for good footballers and we’ll sign players we think are the right fit, personality wise, price wise, quality wise, and can you have longevity at this club?

“And I’m confident we’ll get the players.”

Solskjaer and Manchester United are believed to be focusing on signing talented young players such as Jadon Sancho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
