Manchester United chief scout Marcel Bout ran the rule over the Benfica duo of Ruben Dias and Joao Felix as the club look to firm up their shortlist of targets.

The Premier League giants have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old attacking midfielder Felix over the last few months and are considering signing him in the summer.

He has a €120m release clause in his contract and Benfica have made it clear that they do not want to sell Felix at a negotiated price.

Manchester United are also keen on signing at least one centre-back in the coming months and Benfica’s Dias has emerged as a target for the club.

And according to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, Manchester United’s chief scout Bout was at the Braga Municipal Stadium to watch Benfica demolish Braga 4-1.

The head scout was tasked with the job of keeping close tabs on the performances of Dias and Felix ahead of the transfer window.

With the Dutchman getting involved, Manchester United may be serious about their interest in the Benfica duo.
