The Germany international swapped Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for Premier League giants Chelsea for a fee in the region of £45m in the transfer window.
Five months into his time at Stamford Bridge, Werner is now aware of the playing style in the Premier League, which he feels is more direct in nature.
Explaining how he is finding the English top flight, the German admitted that he is becoming more robust as he is often playing against physical opponents.
Werner feels the robustness and physicality of the Premier League will help him when he is with Germany, with whom he is set to face the Ukraine this weekend.
“In England, they play long balls a lot, the style of play is a bit different from here in the national team“, Werner told a press conference.
“I am becoming more robust myself because I have to deal with many robust opponents.
“That also helps in the national team, but there are always other things that matter.“
Werner has scored eight goals and provided three assists from 12 appearances across all competitions this season.
