Liverpool have lost their last six league games at Anfield and currently have the worst home record amongst all the 92 teams in the football league, with just one point from their last seven games.

After winning the league title in record time last season, Liverpool are now sitting eighth in the league table and unless they can drastically turn their form around will not finish in the top four.

Hamann conceded that he fears for the future of Liverpool without Champions League football as he believes without it they cannot attract the players needed to win the league again.

The former Red admitted that the club could have to consider doing the unthinkable with Klopp and maybe bringing in a new manager who could give them a better chance of returning to the Champions League.

The German said on talkSPORT: “Looking forward, I really worry for the club if they don’t get into the Champions League and maybe there is no European football at all.

“What is going to happen in the summer?

“If they don’t play in the Champions League I don’t think they will have a team capable of winning the Premier League.

“That is what everybody wants and that’s what Klopp wants because he has set the bar very high and then he has got a long term contract.

“I think the only decision you have to make is if there is maybe another manager who gives you a better chance of maybe getting into the Champions League or turning things around.”

Klopp has a contract until 2024, but has been linked with potentially become the Germany boss when the position becomes available.
