The Citizens hitman will leave Manchester City in the summer when his current deal expires and could potentially add another four pieces of silverware to his trophy cabinet in his final season at the Manchester outfit.

Aguero, a four time Premier League champion, is yet to win the Champions League, just like his current club, but his team-tame Rodrigo is keen on sending away his team’s record goalscorer with the European silverware.

The Spaniard feels winning the Champions League would be the perfect parting gift for Aguero as he looks to leave the club in the best way.

Rodrigo stressed how important Aguero has been to Manchester City since he joined the club in the summer of 2011 from Atletico Madrid, and added him and his team-mates are motivated to go all the way in Europe in the current campaign.

Asked whether the wining the Champions League would be a good gift for the outgoing Aguero, Rodrigo told a press conference: “It would be good.

“We have the motivation of every single year.

“Sergio is a very, very important player for us.

“He deserves to go in the best way and for me it will be a dream to achieve this competition with him and the team.

“It would be the best present for him and for everyone.”

Manchester City are gearing up to host Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
