Howe declined the opportunity to become the next Celtic manager last week after talks between the two sides extended over two months.

Celtic have turned towards former Australia coach Postecoglou and the Australian is expected to become the next manager at Parkhead soon.

Some Bhoys fans are worried about the 55-year-old’s lack of experience in Scotland and most considered Howe to be the better candidate.

But Moore stressed that he does not understand that as with the experience of managing in Scotland, they both sit in the same boat.

He conceded that a coach without experience in Scotland will always come under scrutiny but believes if Postecoglou can get a good support staff around him, he will buy himself more time to do his job at Celtic.

The former Australia star said on the Go Radio Football Show: “In regards to the media and the goldfish bowl [of Glasgow], look even Eddie Howe was not a lesser or more of a name than Postecoglou.

“He had no experience in Scotland and until you cross the border, come into Scotland and in particular, Glasgow, where you have those daily pressures day-in-day-out and you are only ever one game away from disaster.

“It’s sink or swim kind of thing.

“Of course, with any coach coming in without Scottish experience that is always going to be the big question that people will ask.

“But the smart ones get a good support network and make sure that they can create their own narrative.

“And therefore, possibly get a little bit more time.”

Postecoglou is currently working at Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic will have to wrestle him out of the contract he has there.
