Salah made 51 appearances for the Reds in all competitions in the 2020/21 campaign, scoring 31 goals and registering six assists.

There has been speculation linking the Egyptian with a move away from Anfield despite him being instrumental in their top-four finish in the Premier League in the recently concluded season.

The former Eagles chairman does not see any reason why Liverpool should let Salah leave Anfield unless it is to bring in a huge transfer fee to improve the squad as a whole.

Jordan insists that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should not offload the 29-year-old lest there be a clear cut reason why he does not want the Egyptian in his squad anymore.

“You can’t argue with his [Salah’s] goalscoring record, so unless you are going to get top money for him and utilise that money to improve, what is the point of selling him? What is the point of changing him?”, Jordan said on talkSPORT.

”If it is not broken you don’t need to fix it.

He had a good season last year, obviously he has had seasons that have been better, then again the whole Liverpool team have had seasons that have been better.

“So my argument would be unless Klopp wants to change Salah and you can see clearly what he is changing him for, why would you change him?”.

Salah has scored 125 goals in 203 appearances for the Reds across his four seasons with the club.
