Williams made 14 appearances for the Reds in all competitions in the recently concluded season as he continued his development as a Premier League player.
The Wales full-back’s performances in the Reds backline have attracted the interest of Leeds United, who are looking to snap him up this summer.
The Wrexham-born right-back was also called up to represent his country in the European Championship and made two appearances for Wales in the continental competition against Turkey and Italy.
And in a boost for Leeds, Williams is expected to ask for a move away from Anfield after the European Championship.
Leeds may have to face stiff competition for the 20-year-old in the shape of Aston Villa and Southampton, who are also interested in signing Williams.
Williams has four years remaining on his current deal at Anfield, having signed a new contract last year.
It remains to be seen if Leeds can rope the youngster into Elland Road this summer as they look to bolster their squad.
