Ronaldo has joined training for the first time at Manchester United since sealing his return to Old Trafford at the end of last month.
The 36-year-old forward is expected to make his second debut for the club against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Fernandes admitted that the anticipation ahead of Ronaldo’s debut is sky high and everyone at Manchester United is excited to see him wear the red shirt again.
He stressed that Ronaldo and Manchester United both want to win trophies and with him on their side, they are ever closer to winning silverware again soon.
Fernandes told Portuguese channel RTP3: “We know the enthusiasm will be red hot, everyone knows Cristiano is in the house.
“Everyone is very confident and happy that he is back, the players too.
“We know what he can give us, and our focus, like Cristiano’s, is to win.
“With him, we know are closer to winning [trophies].”
Ronaldo won five Premier League titles and a Champions League amongst various other honours during his first spell at Manchester United.
He also netted 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils.
